I can't think of a better way to learn about archaeology than to do what archaeologists do. So much of what we know about Ancient Times comes from hard-working archaeologists laboring in the hot sun to unearth treasured artifacts that reveal one more thing about Ancient Times. Parents and teachers can create a dig site with several layers like a Tell. Children and teens mark off a grid before they dig. Carefully, artifacts are unearthed and sent to the lab for examination.
