This class is hard work, but every student I've ever taught says they love it! Why? I think because it is so practical and applicable to real life and their future.
The BIble has so much to say about money, work, business, treating employees, spending, saving, and giving. Be sure to soak up God's wisdom as you go through this course. It's never too late to make changes. Adapt this class as need for your own family. You might want to scale back and not read the optional books. You might want to add some materials of your own. Meet with your teen once a week to discuss all the material. Go over the text each week to check his/her answers and make sure that he/she is keeping up with all the coursework. If possible, read the material yourself so that you can challenge your student. Many parents understand economics for the first time by learning along with their child. When I teach this course in a co-op setting, I always have at least one parent sign up for the class. Give students plenty of uninterrupted quiet time each week to complete their assignments. |
