I'm excited about some of the new trends this spring. I really like the bright colors and find some of the textures quite interesting, especially the crochet dresses. Okay, some of the feathers, fringe, and giant ruffles are a little over the top, but it's fun to see bow blouses back. They were popular when I was a teenager and college student. Oops I just dated myself. As a Christian woman who wants to be fashionably modest, I found some trends that appeal to me like the boxy jackets, monochromatic outfits, longer skirts, and over-sized vests. I've gathered some photos to give you a taste of what's in this spring. If you're like me, it's time to go shopping in your own closet. I'm sure to find some of these things that have recycled back in style from years gone by. Hey, I may be able to dig up some neon clothes from the 1980's. Fashion Trends for Spring

he holidays are here once again and it's time to attend parties, plays, cookie swaps, and decorate the Christmas tree. What will you wear? Should you buy something new? I go shopping every year for a new holiday look. Where do I shop? In my closet! Each season brings new trends and, best of all, old styles come back in style. I love that! The fur-collared shirt that seems so dated the rest of the year can seem festive at the holidays. Adding a touch of sparkle, pairing red and green together in a new way, or throwing a red jacket over a pair of jeans and T-shirt goes a long way in looking festive this season. In the picture I have on a loose white blouse and black slack, a normal everyday outfit, but once I add the Christmas vest--tada! I have a Christmas outfit. Adding gold and silver shoes, jewelry or scarves can also perk up an ordinary outfit during the holiday season. Anything furry, fuzzy, velvet, sparkly, sequined, glittery, or shiny looks festive. Plaids, especially predominately green or red plaids, always say "Christmas." Somewhere in your closet, there are treasures waiting for you to find them. Then you can mix and match them with clothes you wear everyday to create a brand new holiday look. SparkleMix Red & GreenSo many events on your calendar this holiday season. What should you wear? One thing I like to do is to look inside my closet with new eyes. Can I mix a shiny top, pretty blazer, and a comfortable pair of jeans to make a new outfit? Can I add a scarf to a dress or shirt with slacks to create festive attire? Here are some great ideas for different holiday events. The key is to use these ideas as a springboard to create your own outfits with a festive flair. Sparkly earrings and chunky jewelry can add a whole new look. Even adding a pair of holiday shoes can add some sparkle. Have fun dressing up for the holidays! Love, Meredith Curtis Thanksgiving at Grandpa'sDecorating the Christmas TreePregnancy is such a delightful time with a new life blossoming inside you and the thrill of a little one moving and kicking in your tummy. Oh, wait, did I mention swollen ankles, varicose veins, exhaustion, and heartburn? We don't always feel as beautiful as our husband tells us we are when we are pregnant. So, in an attempt to encourage all the pregnant and soon-to-be pregnant women out there, I have put together some pregnancy fashions that are comfy and flattering at the same time. It's true! My model is Sarah Jeffords, a lifetime friend who is the mother of three. In fact, I had the privilege of seeing Hudson's arrival a few weeks ago. Hudson is in the pictures, but you can't see his face. He's hiding inside Sarah. Now, he's here, making his presence known far and wide. And poor Sarah isn't doing much sleeping, but she still looks beautiful. I hope you enjoy Sarah's pregnancy outfits and they give you some ideas for flattering outfits that feel comfortable and look pretty, too. A big thank-you to my sweet friend Sarah and my amazing daughter Shine who took the photos. God bless you Warmly, Meredith Curtis Fall is here!
