Jeff, his sister, and their friends head to Nepal to get some footage from the cold mountainous Asian country. After a break-in at their host's apartment, the kids become involved in a dangerous journey along the cold Himalayan trails to rescue a child from being sold into slavery. Yes, that does happen in other nations. Along the way, the teens share their faith while enduring exhaustion, sickness, injury, bitter cold, and being chased by some scary guys. You will love this adventure! And if you are studying geography, your children will learn something about Asia in general and Nepal in particular, as well Christianity in Nepal. We loved this book! Trying to keep up with my children's appetite for books and looking for some historical fiction set in Asia while we were studying geography led me to the Reel Kids Adventure series by Dave Gustaveson, published by YMAM Publishing. A former missionary, the author has a passion for every nation to hear the Good News and that desire comes across through his writings without being preachy. Though the writing is at a fifth to seventh grade level, children and teens will all enjoy this adventure. It would make a great read aloud. Though the children are in a country hostile to Christianity, they stand firm to honor Christ. This story is a delightful adventure that all ages will enjoy. I heartily recommend this book! We include this exciting book in our geography curriculum, Travel God's World Geography, a fun way to study geography with living books, research, mapping, crafts, activities, missionaries, Bible, and conversational exploration of continents and landforms around the world. Travel God's World Geography is a hands-on unit study/conversational textbook that will take you on an adventure around the world. Start the year by setting up a plane, gate, and security checkpoint, show your passport, and travel to Heathrow and Tel Aviv while you map the world from memory and learn about the 10/40 Windows. Each month you will explore a continent and visit landforms around the world. For example in the one month you explore Europe, including natural resources and European businesses. That same month you travel to the Alps, Andes, and Himalayas. Meet a little girl visiting Switzerland with her Daddy, a boy who sells handcrafts at Manchu Picchu, and a family that goes mountain climbing all over the world before hitting Mt. Everest. Each month students enjoy mapping, geography games, crafts, and hands-on fun. Your family will make friends all over the world, meet missionaries, visit Bible folks who travel, and learn geography at the same time. God created a beautiful world. Come explore it with us in Travel God's World Geography. You will have the adventure of a lifetime! Travel God's World Geography is available at Amazon. The E-book is available at PayHip, Currclick, and TeachersPayTeachers. Be sure to check out Victoria Goes to Brazil and remember to teach Geography the fun way! Be blessed in every way!
